Dittisham Village Voice Oct 1st
Many of you may have seen the article in this paper on September 17th with the headline Outreach Post Offices Threat. Brigitte Tardy proprietor of the Red Lion Shop and Post Office commented that ‘the outreach post office services in Dittisham could be discontinued unless residents use it more’. This is how you can help. Use the post office to buy stamps, to send parcels, if you bank with a Post Office partner bank such as Alliance Leicester now Santander, Co Op, Barclays, Bank of Ireland, Lloyds, Halifax, Nation Wide and a few others you can draw out money, deposit cash or cheques any day or draw out your pension. Every transaction will help keep a post office in our community. Now that the summer swallows have gone The Red Lion is starting up Sunday Lunch Time Roasts at £9.50. Bookings are needed. Similarly, on Friday nights Fish ‘n Chips are back and on Monday evenings people are welcome to come along for table tennis and darts. Dittisham United had a good win 6 – 1 against Riviera United last Saturday. The next home match is Saturday October 16th. The club is always looking for new players call Mark Riley on 07890314715. If you are not that fit but want to support come along to Bonfire Night which is organised by DFC and helps raise funds. This year it will be on Thursday, November 4th. The bonfire is lit at 7.00pm and fireworks start at 7.30. Do remember if you have an event or story that is of interest to our village please contact me.
