VILLAGE VOICE April 6 2012

Do you sometimes have a problem finding a parking place in Dartmouth or is it just in the holiday periods?  Do you think the parking fees are reasonable?  Do you ever use Park and Ride?  Or do you just avoid the centre and go elsewhere for errands, shopping, banking etc.  Devon County Council has asked Dartmouth Town Council to devise a Traffic and Parking Management Plan to support the future economic development of Dartmouth and to improve the current traffic and parking situation. If you have not already received a survey but wish to express your opinion do contact Annette Thom  or telephone her on  01802 722 688 and she will send out the information. Please write the number DIT009 on the top of your completed survey.   Completed questionnaires can be returned to Dartmouth Town Council directly by using the address on the form or  placed in the labeled blue plastic envelope in the Council’s bookshelf in the Village Hall. Many of you over the years may have enjoyed watching the Classic Boat Review at Dartmouth Regatta and listening to the commentary.  This lovely event, enjoyed by thousands of spectators, was organised by Peter Burr who has just   retired.    A huge thank you is extended to him from our village.  Ian Fenton, GM of First Class Nautical in Kingswear will take on the organisation and Nicko Franks will do the commentary for this year’s Review.    A good place to watch lovely boats sailing by is from the Anchorstone Café now open again but to avoid disappointment check their opening days and times telephone 01803 722365.

Next Thursday, April 12 at 7.30pm  the Dittisham Sailing Club invite you to a talk by Simon Cockerill, winner of over 30 national titles at the Village Hall.
