Draft Minutes of the Extraordinary confidential meeting of Dittisham Parish Council held in Dittisham Village Hall, on Wednesday 4 January 2012 at 7.00 p.m.

Present: Cllrs J Walker (Chair), M Faulkner, D Harris-Evans, A Stevens,  J Tucker, P Unitt. 

1/12     Apologies for absence.

Cllrs Stothart and Wotton.    

2/12     Confidential status of the meeting.

The motion that the meeting be confidential by reason of dealing with employment issues was approved (proposed Cllr Walker, seconded Cllr Tucker).

3/12    Consideration of recommendations from the meeting of Councillors held on 4 January 2012 to appoint a new Parish Clerk

The Working Party had interviewed three candidates for the post of Parish Clerk, and agreed unanimously to recommend that all 3 were appointable.  The Working Party had further agreed unanimously the order of preference in which it would recommend that the post should be offered and the pay scale point at which the appointment would be offered.  The Parish Council agreed to accept these recommendations  (proposed Cllr Tucker, seconded Cllr Harris-Evans), and the Chair was therefore authorised to offer the post accordingly.  Following acceptance of the post, the new Clerk’s appointment would be confirmed by public notice and the new Clerk would take up duties at the next full meeting of the Parish Council (11 January 2012).  A draft contract had been prepared and would be finalised by circulation.
